WWF Whale Tales ExhibitionThe True Young Explorers Scholarship offered by Heritage Expeditions provides a limited spots for people between the ages of 18-30 an amazing opportunity to be able to travel to the wildlife-rich UNESCO World Heritage Sites of New Zealand and Australia's Subantarctic Islands.
In December 2022, I was beyond stoked to have been offered a scholarship to join their Birding Down Under Expeditions, visiting all of the Subantarctic Islands between New Zealand, Australia and Antarctica. I spent 16 days aboard the Heritage Adventurer as we explored Snares Island, Auckland Islands, Macquarie Island, Campbell Island, Antipode Islands, Bounty Islands and Chatham Islands. |
BLAKE NZ-VRIn partnership with New Zealand Geographic, BLAKE NZ-VR is our school outreach programme that aims to connect thousands of young New Zealanders with the marine environment. Through virtual reality (VR) technology NZ-VR allows students to experience the rich biodiversity that exists below the surface of the ocean, as well as the damage that has been done to the ecosystems.
Over 2 and a half years I was part of a team that went into school teaching students about our marine environment. In that time, we taught over 40,000 students athrough a educational one-hour session to classes on environmental sustainability around our oceans. |
Annika Andresen’s Insider Guide
to Poor Knights, New Zealand
When seeking out lesser-visited beaches, rugged bays and hidden coves, there are two tribes we tend to follow: surfers and divers.
Often these intrepid travellers will have earmarked undiscovered spots long before they hit the tourist trail.
That's why, as part of our partnership with Corona, we've called upon the expertise of ocean activist, marine specialist and avid diver
Annika Andresen to give us the inside track on an outdoor (and underwater) adventure through New Zealand's sparkling east coast
and the epic Poor Knights islands.
