Everyone has their own story when it comes to cancer and the way effects people directly or indirectly.
My mums favourite quote -
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." - Maya Angelou

In 2016, our mum was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and within 16months passed away last year. She was our families biggest supporter and my brother Daniel and I wanted to do something in honour for her. We hadn't run a half marathon before so we thought this would be a good challenge while raising awareness and helping out an amazing cause.
Inspired by the work of Cancer Society Auckland Northland Division and wanted to support them by raising money as part of our participation in 2018 ASB Auckland Marathon. Our aim was to raise $3,000 between us and get more people that know about Cancer Society. After finishing the race, we couldn't believe the amount of support and generosity we received, reaching over $3,500.
Today 63 New Zealanders will hear the words “you have cancer”
